Mary walks and runs over the hill country of Judea to visit her cousin Elizabeth. It is the Visitation. Listen to the story, hear a great setting of “The Magnificat,” and pray the decade of the Rosary.
The story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Every year during Advent we celebrate the anniversary of the visit of Mary to St. Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac – or Guadalupe – outside of Mexico City – on December 12 – 500 years ago. Hear the story, harp, and song-prayer, “Mary My Mother.”
A Friday tradition is to take that day of the week and remember in some way that it was the day Jesus suffered and died. Because Jesus allowed this to happen out of love for us, this remembrance is not about guilt or shame, but about love – pure, unconditional love.
Traditionally, there are 14 moments – or “Stations” – that we reflect on. Join Katy as she tells a story and sings a song-reflection on the first Station of the Cross: Jesus is condemned to death.
My friend, Gerrie, once told me that in Jesus’ suffering we can find any suffering we go through in life. He knows how we feel and meets us there. As I reflected on Jesus in the Garden, at his Trial, and on the Cross, a prayer-song was born…
Thursday’s podcast will be stories of life and death, faith and doubt, and everything in between.
On Wednesday’s podcast, we will practice different types of prayer and meditation together. Today we’ll be experiencing Lectio Divina – the Holy Word – in a style of centering prayer that is centuries old.
In Lectio Divina the reading from Scripture, the Bible, is read several times. Each time it is read slowly, the pray-er, the person meditating – is drawn deeper into the meaning and he or she allows it to become part of them.
Welcome to the journey inward!
On Tuesdays, Katy will share stories from her memoir, 3 Fingers Cove. Share the moments!
